چکیده
This paper proposes an optimization-based size reduction methodology for Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC), focusing on minimizing the converter's sub-module capacitor $C_{SM}$ . The analysis is performed considering both current and voltage limitations Transmission System Operator (TSO) Fault Ride Through (FRT) requirements. By means of a steady-state analysis, time-domain expressions arms energies are obtained their behavior throughout MMC's operating range shown. Based these expressions, problem to reduce developed its constraints imposed ensure that levels within design limitations. suggested method compared with different approaches distinct active reactive power set-points, where it shown SM can be reduced up 24% in comparison worst performance 7% regarding best used purposes. Furthermore, simulations MMC several AC sags order demonstrate dynamics arm applied voltages acceptable margins during operations.

This paper is concerned with the second problem. However, the methodology developed to solve the second problem provides cost information that can be used by the problem definer to assist him with the determination of the requirements. One approach to determining the requirements of an information system involves comparing the information value of a report with the cost of produoing the report....

متن کاملRegister-Transfer Module Selection for Sub-Micron ASIC Design
SUMMARY In order to shorten the time-to-market, Application-Specic Integrated Circuits (ASIC's) are designed from a library of pre-dened layout implementations for register-transfer modules such as multipliers, adders, RAM, ROM, etc. Current approaches to selecting the implementations from the library usually deal with their timing-area estimates and do not consider delay of the intermodule wir...
متن کاملModule-based Multiple Product Design
Increasing manufacturing competition has necessitated simultaneous design of multiple products. Various design strategies such as Design for Variety (DfV) and product family design have become critical in this respect. This paper provides a new generic approach, which combines aspects of function architecting, multi-objective optimization, and multi agent systems to tackle product platform prob...
متن کاملGeneralized Optimization Methodology for System Design
The new general methodology for the analog system optimization was elaborated by means of the optimum control theory formulation in order to improve the characteristics of the system design process. A special control vector is defined to redistribute the compute expensive between a network analysis and a parametric optimization. This approach generalizes the design process and generates a set o...
